Bring in the 5 senses to your home
In NLP (neuro-linguistic programming) – the 5 senses include:
1. Touch (Kinesthetic)
2. Smell (Olfactory)
3. Hear (Auditory)
4. Taste (Gustatory)
5. See (Visual)
It’s obvious when receiving a tactile therapy treatment that often, touch is the most important aspect of the healing process. However, having worked as a mobile therapist for over 3 years now, I’ve come to notice a deep sense of healing and relaxation when clients are able to receive treatments at their own home.
Candles are lit (visual), often with a very fancy cocktail of scents (olfactory). Mind you, music is very much a personal choice. (auditory) The industry of massage quite often “categorise” spa like music (yawn) – but play whatever your heart desires, and it certainly enhances your senses and makes your treatment more enjoyable. I’ve once had someone play heavy metal (haha), or indie rock.. at the end of the day it’s your tailored treatment but don’t under-estimate the 5 senses.
As for the tasting (gustatory)bit – uhm.. well not so much relevant, but maybe you do have a homeopathic remedy which you swear by? But you get the drift.. prepare for a holistic environment and you’ll get more out of your treatment.
